# Kubernetes

Use the OpenTelemetry Operator and Collector to make Telemio instrumentation consistent across Kubernetes workloads.

## Preferred pattern

1. Install the OpenTelemetry Operator.
2. Deploy an OpenTelemetry Collector gateway with resource limits and health checks.
3. Use `Instrumentation` resources for supported language auto-injection.
4. Add Kubernetes resource metadata in the Collector.
5. Export from the Collector to Telemio with a server-side API key stored in a Kubernetes Secret or external secret manager.
6. Keep application manifests vendor-neutral when standard OpenTelemetry configuration is enough.

Common workload types include Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Jobs, CronJobs, and workloads deployed by Helm, Kustomize, Argo CD, or Flux.

Generate a starting manifest with:
