# Profiles

Telemio is designed to accept profile data alongside traces, metrics, and logs. OpenTelemetry Profiles are still evolving, so keep profile instrumentation isolated from critical application behavior and pin compatible tooling during evaluation.

Profiles are most useful when they can be correlated with service, environment, release, trace, and runtime identity. Prefer continuous profiling agents or eBPF-based approaches that do not require invasive application changes when they fit the runtime.

Never treat profiling as a replacement for request traces or metrics; it answers a different question: which code paths consumed CPU or other runtime resources during a period of interest.
